I’m sure that when most people think of ethical, sustainable or eco-friendly fashion, “edgy” is not something that comes to mind. I don’t blame them – many brands aren’t edgy at all. But let me tell you this; if you know where to look, you could easily recreate any edgy outfit you see on Pinterest without contributing to the unethical practices happening down the supply chain. To help you out with this, I picked out a few pieces from various brands to make your edgy outfit creation simpler. Just click on the images of the pieces you love to get a hold on them.
P.S. If you want to know what my go-to modern ethical brands are, check out this post.
1. Leather Jacket.

I mean, duh, right? Adding a (faux) leather jacket to an outfit immediately ups it’s game. On top of the brands I suggested above, they also tend to be found in second-hand shops. If a leather jacket isn’t quite your thing, then anything leather will have a similar effect.

2. Anything with slits, rips or cutouts.

The best part about this tip is that, although I provided some suggestions above, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to go out and buy ripped jeans or tops with slits in them. Cut-off shorts and slit pants are especially easy to DIY.
3. Deep V-neck.

Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean there will be cleavage galore. In fact, this is probably the one that you can most easily adopt into your daily outfits. It can be a part of your casual day-to-day outfits or for nights out. When used with the right blouse, it can even make a work-appropriate outfit.
I know I suggested a bunch above, but to be honest, you don’t even have to go out and buy one. Just add a pair of shades hanging off the front of your tank, tee or blouse, and there you have it. DIY deep v.
4. Black. Lots of it.

In case it wasn’t already obvious enough, black gets the job done. Take a garment, make it black, and ta-da, insta-edge. If black’s not really your thing, no worries. Just stick to dark tones and neutrals like various shades of grey, navy, camel and white.
5. Go to the extremes.
Jewelry? Go either super minimal and modern, or super big statement pieces. Heels? Either super high, or completely flat. Fit? Go either super loose or skin-tight. Edgy fashion is not a place for mediocre.

Black leather jacket for me! Maybe a deep V neck. Thanks for the tips, Elena. Keep it up! <3
Great post! 🙂 Can’t wait to see more fashion tips from you Elena!
Love this post! I’m always looking for ways to make my outfits a little more interesting since I tend to default to classic looks. You’ve inspired me to get more adventurous with rips and cutouts!

Thanks, Nellwyn! Classic is always good, but adding a little spice can be really fun too!
I totally agree with this because this is basically my closet (except for the deep v because boobs). I say a killer red lip would be my tip. Find your signature shade and learn how to perfect that pout.
And boots. BOOOOOOTS.
Haha yes, not everything can always work/be comfortable for everyone! Thanks for the suggestion, makeup is another great way to add to the look 🙂
